What this capability will require before it can ship

  • Define a specific target and timeframe for each forecast
  • Use a validated forecasting method — not an ad hoc estimate
  • State the forecast's uncertainty alongside its result, never the result alone
  • Cite the supporting evidence the forecast is built from
  • Include an expiration — a stale forecast must never be presented as current
  • "Insufficient data" must be a valid, honest result — not every request will produce a confident forecast
